SLS 1501

SLS 1501 is an engaging class of 30 students, led by a full-time faculty member or student affairs professional. Within the class, students can develop lasting peer groups and a learning community that will provide support, structure, and guidance throughout their first year. Every class consists of a peer mentor: an upper-classman who, having successfully completed their first year, is eagerly ready to make every student feel connected to the campus, as well as to serve as a social advisor and a bank of guidance. SLS is a graded course, and the student’s effort will directly impact his or her GPA.

Objectives of SLS 1501

The course is designed to assist students in achieving the following goals:

  • Adjusting to the University
  • Developing effective study skills

  • Exploring major and career opportunities
  • Becoming familiar with University resources

  1. I think this is a very good post. These are the FEP objectives and we are going to try and create a summer experience and seminar with these objectives as well.
