Title V Project: DEDOS

Students online skills are growing fast, constantly engaging in interactive and networked communication and collaboration through the web...using the latest technology and software through their learning process. They've expertise in creating their own media (video, photo, text, applications) and adjusting pretty easy to any change in these virtual environments. They have found the way to self-manage their learning process, studying @ the most comfortable time...adjusting it to their needs and responsibilities. They have found refuge in e-learning environments...and that's why the Distance EDucation and Online Services (DEDOS) component was created.

DEDOS will create a "backup system" for students that are @ risk of dropping out of their courses by designing and developing, in collaboration with USC's faculty, 100% web-based courses. One of the main objectives of DEDOS is transforming actual courses from what students called "bulletin boards for instructions and reading post" to an interactive and collaborative learning experience. To accomplish this, USC's faculty must be fully trained in the latest technolgy available used with instructional purposes, but also know better how to use correctly the tools provided in the Course Management System used @ USC, Moodle.

Our goals are to design and develop at least 6 fully-web courses and 10 faculty members trained by December 2011. Here I present you DEDOS staff alongside CEDTEC members.
