…l@st week, we discussed the creation of an interactive guide for USC’s faculty members in which they will learn how to use correctly the tools provided by Moodle and other Web 2.0 tools to bring their e-learning experiences. This guide will include tutorials and guidelines about every tool and/or procedure. Before this, faculty members must do an assessment exercise in which they will evaluate their own courses in terms of objectives, activities and resources used and established (OAR model). This will give DEDOS solid ground to start designing and developing the 6 fully-web courses by understanding the professors teaching styles, technological knowledge, etc.
As part of this, a Moodle Research was done through the weekend looking for new tools integrated to the platform and to understand how the actual tools have evolved and have been used in other learning environments. As a result, the platform will evolve to its 2.0 version this summer, incorporating new technological features. In other topics, DEDOS has confirmed the 6 courses that will be designed and developed through the first year of the proposal. The courses will be:
- ADM 102 (Organization Dynamics-Dinámica de las organizaciones)
- ADM 350 (Business, Government & Society-Negocio, Gobierno & Sociedad)
- FOT 130 (Photography Communication-Fotografía en la Comunicación)
- CMU 318 (Research Methods in Communications-Métodos y técnicas de investigación en las comunicaciones)
- HIS 212 (Development of the Puerto Rican Nation-Desarrollo Nación Puertorriqueña)
- CSO 104 (Contemporary Social Analysis-Análisis Social Contemporáneo)
