Summer Orientation: You must be here!!!

In late May, Gloria gave us the planning of various projects with the division of activities for the staff of Title V. Among the projects is the Summer Orientation Project with three main activities: getting resources, prepare materials and plan logistics.

This project was initially in charge of: Melissa Rodríguez, Fernando Quiles and myself.

From this material Gloria gave and following the same format,I conducted a detailed planning by subdividing the three major activities in several others for the effective distribution of tasks between the members of the team. By detailing the activities to be performed, date and name of the person in charge. Then I created a shared folder in Dropbox for members of this block.

Meanwhile, with Gloria we focus ourselves to make the Assessment Plan for the course FEP 101 and add the articles and heuristics from Fyre into the topics of FEP. Modifications were made on the module designed for faculty assessment.

Making instruments of satisfaction, as pre and post test.

Meeting with Professor Madeline Villamil, FEP Coordinator, for planning review of Summer Orientation. Meeting with Ms. Lina Espinosa, Volunteer Office, to agree on criteria for selecting the volunteers. Meeting convened by Mr. Benjamin Ruíz Paler, Activities Coordinator of Title V Project, Sister Marie Clemen, Ms. Melissa Rodríguez and

Fernando Quiles, all fron Title V Project, to discuss issues concerning EarlyIQ andwarning systems

.

Review with Gloria: student schedule from June 24, first meeting of pre-orientation, e-mails that will be sent to students and information for the two-day summer orientation

.

We arrived at the meeting on June 24 with the students (and parents) participating in the pre-Summer orientation and FEP 101 Course.Melissa Rodríguez, Life Coach of Title V, and I were responsible for the introduction of the Guideline, for which Melissa did an excellent Prezi presentation.

We try to convey enthusiasm and joy to the students, and arouse interest and expectations in relation to the activities to be undertaken. Also handed out a brochure and some of the documents (health information) that they should bring on 8 August. The remaining documents(permit to stay in Residence and Release of Liability for photos and videos) and other important notices, will be send via e-mail (sagrado.edu) and/or postal mail.

The Art on the brochure was prepared by Mr. Victor Sources from CEDTEC at USC and the text by me, Michael Rodriguez contributed with this process. Both things were revised and approved by Gloria López, Director of Project Title V.
