Faculty and instructional designer’s professional development

On May 12, I was part of the Copyrights for faculty member’s webinar…a great opportunity for our professors and us as instructional designers to understand how the law protects intellectual property. It was great ‘cause we understood which are the steps we have to make in order to protect our creations…unfortunately, it came short in which type of content we can use as professionals, in order to teach our students which is the right use of them. In good Spanish, it came short on Copyleft and Educational Fair Use explanation. Fortunately, as part of the designing I’m making about instructional strategy Digital Storytelling professional development session, I was able to understand about these 2 important topics…and prepared them to be a major part of my workshop about digital stories.

Then on May 17, DEDOS’s staff took a Mobile learning webinar, right on time to satisfy ourhunger for new horizons. That fell right into my hands since mobile technology is one of my expertise…so thrilled about it I bought an iPad 2 looking to incorporate it as a productivity-enhancing device…and forward as the future of educational. Tablets capability is improving, making it easier to access online content, work in online courses platforms and use native and web apps to positively impact their learning process. I have tried and I know our students are doing it (on smartphones)…and is time for our faculty members to start adopting them, too.

Stay tune…I will...
