As everybody knows, we @ DEDOS have been working hard designing and creating a professional development plan for our faculty. We have succeeded by testing web and mobile tools for educational, we had revised all the current trends in higher education, we have met with the 12 faculty members that will conduct the 6 pilot courses...even Mr. President met them and gave them a little pep talk and we designed an online course (CED 401)...and still, faculty members hasn't integrated to this innovative initiative.
Our online course is designed (and still in evolution) to create an atmosphere of collaboration among its active participants. It is designed, not just to capacitate our faculty members but to put them on a unfamiliar role for them, been a student again. Instead, it has turned into a resource that nearly nobody participates...making us, instructional designers wait impatiently for some kind of participation from our "students". We had sent emails, created a Facebook group of the course, called them and tell them face to face...yet, participation has been reduced to a few.
Instead of getting discouraged, we instructional designers kept doing research, testing new technology, evaluating online courses and improving our professional development plan...we know sooner or later they will appear and we will be ready for them!!
