This week, Title V received its first group of students with its Summer Orientation activity. DEDOS also welcome our faculty members, the ones that will change the way distance education is given in this institution...obviously, with a little help from us. That why we had a not-so formal meeting with them, rather looking to enjoy summer stories about professional development sessions taken in continental USA. It was a great experience, a way to refocus our faculty in the task ahead: redesigning of their online courses looking to turn them into a reliable option for our students in case they are considering dropping out.
That doesn’t mean we have been just waiting for them seated comfortably in our desks. For the past 2 months we had rebuilt and retooled our classroom, we had created course CED 401 in order to train faculty members in the latest topics in the educational field, we have reviewed and tested as many web 2.0 and mobile applications as we could. Professors know our plans and expectations with them, too. So we are due next, and we are ready to roll…
